What is Search Engine Optimization?
With everything in the world literally gaining an online presence of some sort it becomes easier and easier for your content to get lost amongst the rest. This is where SEO comes in handy. There are many ways to optimize your website or blog posts to get more visitors to see your content.
1. Key Words In Your Text Content:
Using specific keywords within your content will be one of the most useful tools with in optimizing your information. Do not clutter your page or pages with a whole bunch of nonsense but pick one or two very simple yet effective keywords that will fit into your message. Don’t know which ones to choose? Google up the latest keyword trends to see what people are actually searching for in the genre of your content. For example, if your post is about making your SEO better, as this article is, what is the first key word you would think of? SEO…it is literally the topic of the article and that is what people will most likely search for. Next, what are some other versions of SEO people may type in? Search Engine Optimization…that is what it stands for and is still bringing in visitors from a separate search. With those two words alone you can easily make sure your content brings those who are searching for your guidance or product without over loading your text to sound like you were using only keywords.
2. Key Words In Your SEO Options:
In the back office of every website is a specific setting where you can save search terms that bring visitors to your general site or a specific page. I am not speaking of the ones we use in the actual content, but key words to describe that site or page as a whole. What is your website or blog about? What does it represent? What would you search for if you were looking for a site like yours? These are all questions to ask yourself before saving the setting.
3. Affiliate/Non Affiliate URL’s:
Wether your an affiliate for a few companies or your trying to redirect people to your site from another, the perfect way to do this is by inserting a URL into a very eye catching image, video or an ad.It is literally hidden with in the content and when anyone clicks on it they will be redirected to where every you set it to go. It is that simple.
4. A Great Title:
Now that we are down to the fine tuning, take a look at the title of the site, page, or content. Does it describe your message or product as a whole? Do you look at it and know what your about to dive into because of its specifics? Each title should have these elements in order for the reader or buyer to what to continue on further.
5. Meta Descriptions:
This is a section that allows you describe what your blog posts are about. It shows on search results so it is a perfect place to use some of your site wide keywords. The meta description should be very detailed and as engaging as you can make it. If your not impressed by what it says then don’t expect many others to be either.
6. Mobile Friendly Sites:
Everyone uses their phones these days for everything including searching for your business or blog. Make sure that when you have the opportunity to make things mobile friendly that your do so. Statistics with in my own Google Adsense account shows that 84 percent of people that visited my blog did so using their mobile devices. That is probably about the same if not more for everyone else that happens to have an online brand.
These are the most important things to remember when your looking into bettering your traffic to your site. Making sure your SEO is as up to date as you can will definitely bring you some more readers or buyers as well as keep your current ones.
